Bad bad blogger...

I know I am terrible ( not that anyone is reading this, lol ) but if you are, I am sorry. This week I have been crazy busy working on my open house. What open house? you ask. Well as you know I am an Independant Demonstrator for Gold Canyon and I was given an awesome opportunity to set up at an Open House a salon I go to is hosting. My husband works next door to the salon and works on their computers and mentioned that I sold candles a few months ago and she ( the owner ) said well tell her she can put them in my salon, so I have a little display in there that I must add is very sad right now but I am waiting to make it pretty after this open house. So anyway it's going to be pretty big, we invited ALOT of people! The girl hosting it and I have been planning and preparing for it for about a month, last week we made the gift baskets or this week, lol, my days are running together. Today we are making the goody bags ( 100 of them ). The gift baskets are Awesome! There is a huge one with now over 300 in product and to have a chance to win that one you have to either make a purchase or schedule an appointment, and for the other 2 baskets you just have to enter to win! Plus we are giving away a few other little prizes. The goody bags are going to be filled with candle samples, salon samples, and other fun stuff as well as postcards from those participating with specials for that day.

In the big gift basket their are several gift certificates for various services at the salon including free massages, free hair coloring, etc. Also there is a sign and block thingy I made ( pictures below ), my candles, the scrub and lotion I sell, a pedicure kit, a cute mini bow dryer, shampoo and conditioner and much more, plus the basket alone is awesome! I will post lots of pictures of the open house after it's over. Which I must add I am really excited about it but very ready for it to be done. It is next Saturday June 6th by the way. My display is going to be so prettttty! I ordered lots of product for it, as well as made some things to make my displays pretty.

Here is the sign and block picture holder thing I made for the big basket. The picture holder cube is going to hold a cute little card with the names of everyone who put in for the basket. Would you be excited to win this? I am just not sure how I feel about the sign.

I made this pendant yesterday, what do you think? I am not thrilled about it but for my first not to bad...

Here are some other pendants I made this morning. These are so easy to make and are Great gifts! Well I think, I am so uneasy about gifting anything I make as I always hate everything I make.
I will post again later today as I have several other projects in the works, I am working on a couple of chalkboards, as well as a cute little cake stand thingy made out of a plate. I have to search and find the links to these as they were ideas from other blogs and I definately want to post where I found the idea.
Off for now as my little bugaboo is not cooperating today, lol...He is refusing to take his morning nap!
Til next time...

Projects I have been workin on...slowly...

I hope everyone had a safe and happy memorial day weekend! I wanted to share a couple of things I did finish up, nothing major and I will also have more later today hopefully. I am busy busy working on an upcoming open house I am doing at a Salon. I will share more of that with you as well.

So I took this old candlestick, yes I know it's cute as it is, but I already have a set and these were sitting in a closet and I wanted to use them, well I thought it would be cute as a topiary and this is as far as I got before I decided I did not like it, so I took all the greenery back out and made this....

Much better, right? Well I had this cute little long basket and stuffed some foam that comes with my packages in the mail in it and voila! However this little cutie is no longer with me as my grammy saw it, loved it and I of course had to give it to her as she is precious and I love giving things away. Do you like?

I bought 2 of these end tables off of craigslist for 5.00 each, they were ugly brown wood looking ( not real wood ), you get my drift? I have a before pic somewhere and will add it later but for now this is how they look now, I sanded, painted, painted, and painted some more...I took the pics and was looking through them on my computer and geesh I have a lot of touchin up to do! My dining room is the only place for me to paint sadly and the lighting is horrible so yea I made a lot of boo boos. But they are still better than before!

Ok, so I did not make this, my momma did. A long long time ago walmart had these cute little clocks on clearance for 15.00 and my little sisters were staying with me and wanted to buy it for mom so we got it for her and it was white with flowers on it, not bad, she loved it but eventually everything changes in her house so she painted it black and eventually I inherited it as I had to have it after it became black!!! Isn't she Gorgeous??? Do you have a favorite goody, or piece of furniture in your home? I have many but this is definately one of my favorites!!! Oh and the front opens too with little shelves inside! Do share your favorites...

Shoppin in the home...

I have had this cute little red rocker for a few years now, My mom and I were at a little antique shop and found it and she bought it for me for I believe 5.00...I just love it, though you wouldn't know as I have had the poor sweet thing hidden away in storage! Well after all the blog hoppin I have been doing I have been so inspired to decorate and make my house pretty and finally finish up some projects that have been on the back burner for far to long now.

The little red rocker that I actually did finish and is now black of course...

Soooo I started digging through boxes and cabinets and the basement and I found soo many neat things that I can't believe I have not been using. Now my neat and your neat may be different but to me these are all my little goodies....I love old, I love new, I love fixer uppers, I love little things, baskets, containers, love love love plants ( fake ones as I am a plant killer, hubby says the plants cry when I walk by them at the store ), clocks, frames, any little trinkets...Well in the past ( working on this ) I would buy and buy and buy and then stick it in a closet, I would see something that I just had to have, and if it's on clearance or on sale I had to have 2, lol...Very rarely do I buy something that is not on sale. So you all have inspired me to start digging out all of my little finds and treasures and use them to beautify my home. We haven't lived here long, but almost a year and my walls are still bare, as are my windows and shelves, etc. Now not only do I have so many little goodies that would look lovely out of the closet and placed throughout my home I have lots of big goodies, I have a super neat black shelf in the hall on the floor that would be ever so lovely hanging on the wall, I have tons of neat frames and a whole lot of pictures to go in them for my walls, I found red toile curtains, valances, scarves, 2 neat old chairs that just need some paint and pretty fabric, old timey wooden boxes my mom made me, my sweet little rocker, a little black cabinet with drawers that hangs on the wall ( 5.00 dollar find at walmart, woohooo! ), windows, a really neat bench my momma yet again made me when my first son was born...I could go on and I really did go on longer than I should have, sorry about that...Why am I telling you this you ask? Because YOU fellow bloggers, have inspired me to do it! You all have such beautiful homes and the ideas you have shared and showed are truly amazing, and now I want to join in, I want to show off my what could be pretty little home, I want to inspire you as you have inspired me.

Ok so if you haven't already clicked the x at the top to escape this miserably long post I am boring you with then here are a few pictures of the goodies I will be dusting off and decorating with as well as making a few of them over....Enjoy! And please share any ideas you may have...I love reading your comments!

I bought this star a long time ago on clearance for $2 or $3 at kohls....Been in a closet ever since.

This was being abused in my oldest sons room so I rescued it and it is now black, not done yet will share when it is....

This is the little black cabinet I found on clearance at walmart for $5, I am going to modge podge the black toile paper that you see in it....I think.

What? How'd he get in there? I promise this sweet little bugaboo wasn't in the closet. He is too precious.

This is another shelf my mom made me and it hasn't been hung in over 2 years, so sad...Needs a good cleaning from hanging out in the yucky basement, but I will find a spot for him...

I got a few of these little trays in the hobby lobby clearance for a couple bucks a piece...Cute...

This I have no idea what it is, lol...My mom made it and started to make a topiary? with it and gave up and I had to have it so I could put it in my closet, lol...It has two big grapevine balls that slide down the spindle that I thought about sticking some greenery in and makin a topiary, any ideas on this one?

This is precious, My mom made this for me when my first little bugaboo was born. He had a teddy bear room, well he is now 7 and it's been wasting away in storage and it's to cute to not be used, so I am thinking of painting it chocolate brown and putting some fresh new cordinating paper over the wallpaper border to match Bugaboo #2's room, whatcha think? My husband said I shouldn't that I should keep it for the oldest, but do you seriously think he wants a teddy bear bench in his room? I could fix it up to match his room but I have no clue, I am torn...The top opens by the way for storage...

So that is just SOME of the many things I have been digging out. Should I pitch it all? lol...I think they all have potential, don't you? Well all of this and more is now out of the closet and hanging out in my dining room, so I have to do something with it. Oh and my MIL is coming to see our new house for the first time on Wednesday, I probably should have waited a week for this but I am very impatient, when I get something on the brain I have to do it...It's a busy busy next couple of weeks and here I am messin up the house! Thank you for letting me share my hoarding issues and reading my book that I have written here today!

I need your help! Please Vote for Me!

So I entered this contest at The Original ScrapBox and want to win so badly for my sad little crafting self could really use one of these beautiful desks they are giving away! They have AWESOME cabinets and desks and other little goodies, you should really check it out even if you don't vote! Currently when I scrap or craft it's on the floor of my dining room or the floor of my little bugaboos unfinished nursery. It's horrible! Let me paint you a little picture...

Ok when you walk through the front door there is a teeny tiny entryway then another little french door ( at least that's what I call it ) then off to the left is what we call the living room and to the right is the dining room, it is all open and though it is quite big the way it's set up is awkward and we have to split it up oddly leaving us with a small living room area, well straight ahead through the door off the living room part was another little open area that everyone said to leave open and use as a sitting room or an office, well my dad came down last summer and built a wall and we put french doors there and now that is the nursery for my roomless little 6 month old. It so would of been an awesome office/craft room for me but it makes a really cute nursery and he was so worth giving that up...So anyways that's it...Off the dining room is a hallway with the bathroom and down the very short hallway is our bedroom and then we have stairs with a door off the dining room as well going up to the most gigantic attic that is our big bugaboos room who is 7...Oh let me tell you this would have been the most perfect master bedroom, it's huge and not attic like at all, it has high ceilings with wood beams going across and all kinds of cool little cubbies and spaces....But #1 we did not want the kiddos both on the first floor while we were upstairs in case something ever were to happen, #2 big bugaboo has way more stuff than we do to fill up the space, it will be such a nice room for him once we finish it up and make it pretty for him, right now it's just toys and all his furniture all messy and unorganized, lol...Now we do have a basement that is fixable and are going to do so but frankly it will be years before we get to it, we could make me some kind of little crafting place there now but ewwww no! When it's all pretty sure, lol...But I can't take my babies down there to play while I play, to gross down there....So that's my dilema....I gotta say I love love love OUR house though, We have been married 8 years and this was our time buying a home and it's sooo nice not renting and being able to do what we want to OUR home! Nothing wrong with renting but it's just nice to have a home of our own, ya know?

Wow did I so get off subject or what? Anyways, I could really use the desk for storing alot of my stuff and it would help me make a corner for myself somewhere in my sweet little house....So if you have the time please take a moment and go vote for me! Now my craft project yes is simple and yes isn't the most fabulous thing in the world but as you know I am just starting out and plus I am now on a different computer as my other crashed and that's what I had a pic of to enter!

Ok this is the awesome desk I could win!! Isn't she beautiful??? This is the Easy View Craft Desk, Look at all that storage and I love the clear top with the storage underneath!! Doors and Drawers and Shelves, Ohhhh My! It's fantastic and it's perfect!

You can vote for me hereeeeee! Vote EveryDay!I am entry #286 just in case you get lost on their, lol...And you can also visit their site here and view the awesome cabinets and desks that they have! They are Amazing!!! If I could spend that kind of money on a desk, I would order it right now! Thanks for your Votes and taking the time to read my desperately long post!

Do you use coupons?

Do you use coupons? Do you like freebies? I never really used coupons until about the last couple of months or so and man was I missing out! Then just recently I also started getting into blogging, though my blog is pathetic right now I have been blog hoppin and oh my it would take me weeks to get through all of the wonderful blogs out there. As you can see I have a pretty lengthy list of my faves over there on the right and that isn't even all of them!

My favorite blogs are the ones with decorating tips, DIY projects, anything crafty really, and also those who write about deals and saving money....Well recently I found a blog by Charlene called My Frugal Adventures and it is so freaking awesome! I love that she takes the time to write out all the deals and coupons and the savings for EACH store! I mean seriously you know that has to take her ALOT of time to do and for her to share it with all of us is incredible! I have found so many awesome deals, freebies, coupons, and others just from her blog. It is a must to check out!

I love sharing a good deal, ask my family, lol and if you love getting the deals then My Frugal Adventures is the blog to read daily as she has them all listed there! Just thought I would share with you...

A rainy rainy day...

It's been raining and storming since last night and I love it! Sorry I know alot of you hate the rainy and stormy weather but It could rain everyday for me and I would be happy. I don't know what it is I just love the dreary weather, it makes me Happy, really it does....Am I crazy? Maybe, lol...I also love snowy days as well, it's so beautiful! There is just something about being home and hearing the thunder and the rain, drinking my coffee, yea I just made me some coffee and it's 5:13 pm, I didn't get to have it this morning and hubby is going to the movies tonight and it's just me and the little guys hanging out and hopefully I can get a few things done. Gabriel ( 5 months old ) has been really fussy the past few days, I think another tooth may be coming through...Right now big brother is entertaining him by reading to him so I get to sit at the computer for a few...Ok so none of that even closely pertains to having coffee at 5:13, lol, but anyway it's just a casual evening at home...

Last night I went to Michaels and oh how I love that store! It's so funny cause when I was younger and my mom would make me go to Michaels and Hobby Lobby or any craft store or flea market for that matter, I HATED it and now here I am with those as my fave places to go, my how things change! I got soooo many goodies ( pictures to come ) there last night! I was there an hour and a half and loved every minute of it, well until the lady told me my total, lol...I went in for Diamond Glaze and came out with about 5 bags oh and there was noooo diamond glaze in those bags! I cannot find it anywhere! I got something like it and tried it and it was so cloudy you could not see the image underneath it. I have been dying to try making a scrabble pendant and tried it and failed, but I will give it another shot soon....

Anyways here are some pictures of my trip to Michaels...Now some of you may think ok she bought a bunch of junk, but to me these are goodies that I can play with, lol...
In the clearance section those cute little sailboat hooks which I bought 5 of, they would be super cute covered in cute scrap paper, and how about the ribbon for 1.00 each! Love it!

How cute are those stamps for 1.00 each! I love the little cupcake one!! I got that little spinning cube in the back to make to go with my dads fathers day gift with the kiddos pictures in...He will love it for his office! He is THE HARDEST person to shop for, he himself is a shopohaulic, and he has everything, so I figured I would send him a gift card to his fave store which is Marshalls, lol and something I make...

I don't know why I got them but I love the print on those little take out containers, and they were on clearance for .49 and how about those little buckets, those I got at the dollar tree for 1.00, they had all kinds...Those are cute for planters or centerpieces, or just catchalls...Love Em!

I love this plate, again I found it at the dollar tree! I am going to make one of those chalkboard plates out of it as I have seen somewhere and will find where and link to it, they are sooo cool!! and what about that sparkly green trim, it woo was on clearance for .99!

Now these I love, These little Hope words were on clearance for only .29 and I bought about 8 of them, I would of bought them all but didn't want to hog them, lol...How about the new scrapbook paper they are laying on? Love it! Didn't get much paper as it wasn't on sale and I don't buy it if it isn't on sale, lol...Ask anyone who knows me! My son ( who is 7 ) goes around telling everyone hey I saw this on sale at so and so, he's catching on, haha!

Ok now here is a picture of something in the works....
I have 2 of these, my mom made them for me a long long time ago, they matched a coffee table she made and gave to me, it was black with the same paper inset on the top, but I no longer have it and I am tired of these, they are bland...I have noooooooooo Idea what I am going to do with them but I have some old red toile valances I thought about using in them but again I have RED walls and I need another color, any suggestions?

Here it is with the red toile...Don't you think this is way to much up against my red walls? Why oh whyyyyy did I paint my walls red! Don't get me wrong I love them and it looks nice but it is soooo hard to match it, I need another color in there, something bright? I love robins egg blue, would that go? For my kitchen we got a green color, it's more of a mustardy color with a light tint of green? Am I crazy? I am sooooooo bad at decorating and picking colors, seriously it is sooo hard for me to do! I love color though and won't have white walls, though I see so many peoples pictures of their homes and they have white walls and it looks gorgeous!
Ok so my living room and dining room are open to each other, it's long and then there is my tiny kitchen ( hallway, lol ) My living and dining are painted all red and the kitchen we were going to paint the bottom walls/ beadboard red, I know red again but there is barely any bottom walls visible so we thought it would be ok, and the tops will be that mustardy color which I will show you later...My furniture is black, my couches are a tan color and the trim will all be cream. Just painting you a picture of my mess, lol...I will post one as well soon, when it's clean, haha....It my furniture is black should the frames with pics I hang on the wall be black too?
Ok so I know I am talking to myself but it helps me a bit...It makes me feel like someone out there might be listening and hearing my cry for help!
Well I better get busy, it was about 5 when I started this post and is now 6:03...Keep checking back as I am thinking up my first blog giveaway! And since maybe one person is reading this you probably have a pretty good chance, haha!

Procrastinators Party Update....

So a couple of weeks ago I joined in on a procrastinator party that Melissa over at the Inspired Room is having and Well yes, I procrastinated the procrastinator party...I was rather busy, but I did have a few moments I could of worked on my THREE projects I signed myself up for but nope I waited til the very last minute, However I did get one of them finished, last night I worked on it til about 4am, lol....But it's done! Now I just need to get the others finished up which I am definately going to do this weekend as we are staying home and going nowhere!

So here it is the before and after, now don't laugh, this is technically the first piece of furniture I have painted lol, the pictures are terrible too, they make it look glossy and it's not, I used satin black paint, and I still have to find some cute little knobs for it as the ones on there are horrid...Right now I put it behind my sofa as a sewing table but not sure that I like it here yet...

Ok...Enough babbling, here are the pics....Be warned, I told you I cannot take a good picture for the life of me!

Before......

After.........

Now you have to go check out the rest that joined in on this party as there are sooooooo many wonderful projects!!! It's all very inspiring!!! Check out Melissas blog post on it here to see all the others wonderful projects!

Ok so now I would like to share some things that I did not list but did get done....My mom brought me this awesome armoire that I have been waiting on for a couple of years now, lol...It is white and oh if you know me it's black black black...I am beginning to think I have to much black in my home, but shouldn't it match? Anyway the armoire will definately stay white for now as I just cannot see myself painting it black anytime soon...

Here are some pictures of it, we got it all moved in, this thing is HUGE by the way! My old tv cabinet I was using was yet another beauty that my mom made me but I was so tired of it as a tv cabinet, it made it look junky but now I have it sitting in my dining room and I love it! So check out the pics, what do you think?

The cabinet in the corner is what my tv used to be on, love this cabinet! My mom made it for me about 6 years ago for Christmas, the window opens and it has shelves inside. Please disregard my hideous table and mismatched chairs, the table is actually nice underneath a black pedestal that again my mom made for me but it did not have chairs so there you have it, lol...We are workin on that...

Ok so this picture is horrible, I will post a better one later....I thought I took one after we were finished rearranging but this was mid move and all cluttered and messy but it will work for now...Isn't she pretty? She made it out of old doors as you can see! I just love it and how awesome would this look painted black?

Well that's about it! LOL, yep that all took 2 weeks, haha...Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful procrastinators projects at the Inspired Room! They are all Amazing and you will be inspired to finish that project you have been putting off!

Til Next Time...
