Shoppin in the home...

I have had this cute little red rocker for a few years now, My mom and I were at a little antique shop and found it and she bought it for me for I believe 5.00...I just love it, though you wouldn't know as I have had the poor sweet thing hidden away in storage! Well after all the blog hoppin I have been doing I have been so inspired to decorate and make my house pretty and finally finish up some projects that have been on the back burner for far to long now.

The little red rocker that I actually did finish and is now black of course...

Soooo I started digging through boxes and cabinets and the basement and I found soo many neat things that I can't believe I have not been using. Now my neat and your neat may be different but to me these are all my little goodies....I love old, I love new, I love fixer uppers, I love little things, baskets, containers, love love love plants ( fake ones as I am a plant killer, hubby says the plants cry when I walk by them at the store ), clocks, frames, any little trinkets...Well in the past ( working on this ) I would buy and buy and buy and then stick it in a closet, I would see something that I just had to have, and if it's on clearance or on sale I had to have 2, lol...Very rarely do I buy something that is not on sale. So you all have inspired me to start digging out all of my little finds and treasures and use them to beautify my home. We haven't lived here long, but almost a year and my walls are still bare, as are my windows and shelves, etc. Now not only do I have so many little goodies that would look lovely out of the closet and placed throughout my home I have lots of big goodies, I have a super neat black shelf in the hall on the floor that would be ever so lovely hanging on the wall, I have tons of neat frames and a whole lot of pictures to go in them for my walls, I found red toile curtains, valances, scarves, 2 neat old chairs that just need some paint and pretty fabric, old timey wooden boxes my mom made me, my sweet little rocker, a little black cabinet with drawers that hangs on the wall ( 5.00 dollar find at walmart, woohooo! ), windows, a really neat bench my momma yet again made me when my first son was born...I could go on and I really did go on longer than I should have, sorry about that...Why am I telling you this you ask? Because YOU fellow bloggers, have inspired me to do it! You all have such beautiful homes and the ideas you have shared and showed are truly amazing, and now I want to join in, I want to show off my what could be pretty little home, I want to inspire you as you have inspired me.

Ok so if you haven't already clicked the x at the top to escape this miserably long post I am boring you with then here are a few pictures of the goodies I will be dusting off and decorating with as well as making a few of them over....Enjoy! And please share any ideas you may have...I love reading your comments!

I bought this star a long time ago on clearance for $2 or $3 at kohls....Been in a closet ever since.

This was being abused in my oldest sons room so I rescued it and it is now black, not done yet will share when it is....

This is the little black cabinet I found on clearance at walmart for $5, I am going to modge podge the black toile paper that you see in it....I think.

What? How'd he get in there? I promise this sweet little bugaboo wasn't in the closet. He is too precious.

This is another shelf my mom made me and it hasn't been hung in over 2 years, so sad...Needs a good cleaning from hanging out in the yucky basement, but I will find a spot for him...

I got a few of these little trays in the hobby lobby clearance for a couple bucks a piece...Cute...

This I have no idea what it is, lol...My mom made it and started to make a topiary? with it and gave up and I had to have it so I could put it in my closet, lol...It has two big grapevine balls that slide down the spindle that I thought about sticking some greenery in and makin a topiary, any ideas on this one?

This is precious, My mom made this for me when my first little bugaboo was born. He had a teddy bear room, well he is now 7 and it's been wasting away in storage and it's to cute to not be used, so I am thinking of painting it chocolate brown and putting some fresh new cordinating paper over the wallpaper border to match Bugaboo #2's room, whatcha think? My husband said I shouldn't that I should keep it for the oldest, but do you seriously think he wants a teddy bear bench in his room? I could fix it up to match his room but I have no clue, I am torn...The top opens by the way for storage...

So that is just SOME of the many things I have been digging out. Should I pitch it all? lol...I think they all have potential, don't you? Well all of this and more is now out of the closet and hanging out in my dining room, so I have to do something with it. Oh and my MIL is coming to see our new house for the first time on Wednesday, I probably should have waited a week for this but I am very impatient, when I get something on the brain I have to do it...It's a busy busy next couple of weeks and here I am messin up the house! Thank you for letting me share my hoarding issues and reading my book that I have written here today!

Til Next Time....

I am a terrible keeper, but so many times I have been glad that I didn't toss something and regret it later! Your finds are great...look forward to seeing them again!
