Thrifty Finds from the weekend.....

It's Thrifty Treasure time again over at Southern Hospitality! Go here or click the picture above to go check out everyones wonderful finds for the week!

So over the weekend I only made it to one garage sale and walked away from it with pretty much nothing other than a book for my littlest guy and a set of lights for under the cabinets still new in the package. I did make it to goodwill though and found a couple of things...

I found this cute little saucer plate and love it! Got this at GoodWill for .49

I found this frame and another just like it for 1.29 each.

This is what I have done with it so far, I am thinking some old keys as you see all over blogland or a neat old letter to put in it....I will make the other like it....

This I did not get this week but got last week? I think, lol. An old icky breadbox at Salvation Army for 1.49, sorry the picture is bad and I did not get it cleaned up beforehand.

Here she is after, not the best redo but looks MUCH better. This was badly painted before with lots of drips and this thing just would not sand up for me....I'm unsure of the letters, and now noticing they are crooked, lol....Still much better though.

This I found at GoodWill for 3.99, thought it would be cute painted, not sure if I should leave the wood parts alone but I think they will get painted....

These not a garage sale find from anytime recent but found these in a box in the basement. The last garage sale the family had my gramma had these at it and they were going to get thrown out so I snagged them, love them now and glad I kept them. Thanks Grams~

These not a garage sale find but I found these at Michaels for 2.49 each and love them, they had tons of different ones! I love love love faux plants as the real ones and I just don't get along.

I found some cute clothes for the kiddos at GoodWill, I don't usually take the time to go through the clothes but will definately start as I got some great buys. I got the littlest bugaboo some Gap swimming trunks that look new and some new old navy jean shorts and a couple of shirts and the biggest bugaboo some shirts and pants from Gap. I also found the littlest one the cutest set of flashcards, they came in a really cute box that you store them in and they are about twice the size of memory cards and really really thick cardboard like stuff, for .99.
That's it! Now I am going over to Rhodas to check out everyone elses wonderful finds! Go check them out too!

I hope you're going to show how those frames with the keys turned out! That sounds like a great idea, because I love old keys. The breadbox turned out great. You've obviously got a talent for transforming things! Glad you kept Grandma's cruets. They're so pretty and sparkly!

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Love the old vinagar and oil set of your grandma's,my mom had a set of those too! And as for clothes at GW I use to go ewww but after finding some Gymboree dresses in good shape that my dd loves I figure nothing that can't be laundered. I need to find some shorts for my 7 year old now.

Have a great week!

The bread box came out so cute! I find that my Salvation Army as much better prices than my Goodwill, but my Goodwill has better stuff!

re: crooked letters on the box: I thought you had done it on purpose for a more 'folkart'ish look!! I really love it that way!

Hi Nicole,

It's so nice to meet ya!
Looks like you had FUN out thriftin. One of my very favorite things to do is go junkin! One persons trash is definitely another's treasure.
It's just so much fun takin something and turning it into something you love. Your breadbox turned out FABULOUS!!!! Love the black! I hope you show your framed keys when you're done. I'm a vintagekeyhound! They are definitely all the rage too!
Well, I'm gonna go read some more of your blog!!!
