I Love Burlap!!!!

DIY Day @ ASPTL

I am new to burlap, I bought my first yard of it about a month ago and am so in love with it! I love the way it looks with black too! There is so much that can be done with it and I absolutely love the look of it! Anyway here are a few little things for DIY Thursday that the awesome Kimba hosts over at A Soft Place to Land!

Remember this 3.99 shelf from GoodWill? Well I have had it painted forever but needed the hubsters help prying off the back to put something pretty behind it, so finally it's done...

Here it is now! I added burlap to the back and LOVE it! Whatcha think?

Remember all my quilting hoops I scored at the goodwill and garage sales?

Well here is one all prettied up! I love love love this! I added some burlap to it and hot glued a birdie that I painted black and voila! I love these little birdies, I have used them for so many projects! I think they are 1.99 at Michaels for a 12 pack.

Is it just me or is this super cute?

Off subject but I finally found a cute little teacup for my big jar of coffee, .50 at a flea market! I have always kept my coffee in a huge pretty jar ( copied my brother ) and was always looking for a cute little scoop for it but have seen this idea all over blogland and LOVE it!

Remember these from Hobby Lobby for $1.00?

Well I sprayed one heirloom white, what do you think? Do you like it better white or the other way?

I forgot a before pic of this so took one in the process of it's makeover. This was $1.00 at a flea market. I am painting everything but the white black, not sure how it will look. We shall see.

These were super cheap a few years back on ebay so I bought them, never have done anything with them. I bought 3 or 4 of them. They are cute, but what would you do with them? Just display them somewhere? Am I the only one that likes them? lol.

The inside....

Oh and this little pretty set I received in the mail yesterday from the lovely Sarah at the Mama Canon Blog, I won it in a giveaway she did! Love her and love this! It's Oriental Blossom and smells soooooooo good! I have never used bath confetti and can't wait to try it!!! Thank You Sarah!!! Your Awesome! If you haven't been to her blog, stop over she is the sweetest!!!

Ok, now head on over and check out everyone elses DIY projects!!! Prepare to add to your project list!!! Mine gets longer and longer every Thursday!!

I have to say my favorite transformation is that white crown hook thing-a-ma-gig. Cool, very cool.

Love burlap too...found burlap scrapbook paper at HL yesterday and added it to the reverse side of a chalk board I am doing for a friend. Hopefully will join in next Thursday with pics. love the crown white. and those little boxes....love them! If you have several, I might would paint one Heirloom white, display two together, and use one w/ the lid open (love that red!) with something inside it. Thanks for stopping in.

I contemplated one of those oval hoops at Goodwill yesterday. I knew it had potential but I didn't have a solid idea. I love what you did with the bird and burlap!! Thanks for the inspiration!

I LOVE the little jewelry box things.

I haven't caught the burlap bug yet, mostly because it makes me sneeze, but your shelf is so cute that I may try it.

Hello Nicole - oh I just love what you did with the crown! Just for fun, try "shabby-ing" it up a bit by roughing it with sand paper in a few spots. The iron will come through and might look really cool! The birdies on the hoops look so adorable. I think that lamp base will look fab painted black! Great job with everything.

Blessings,
Marie
