$10 Dresser redo.....

Kimba over at A Soft Place to Land is having a DIY Day Party so go check it out and see all the projects everyone has been working on!

This is my $10 dresser I found at a Garage Sale last weekend....Before and After....

Yipppeee, I'm finished, well almost. I still have to do something with the wood decorative things and after I uploaded the pictures I realized I never antiqued the back piece that I screwed back on, geesh. I loved it, then I hated it, then I loved it, hated it and finally I love it! So after cleaning it, sanding it, and several ( what seemed like thousands ) coats of black paint she's finished! Now I have to find a place for her and decorate her, I just threw some stuff on top for the pictures to pretty it up a bit....
Remember the ugly before?

And here she is after.....You can't tell I spray painted the little tin holding the grapevine ball or the little statue thingy can you? Lol, it's amazing the things you notice after you see the pictures. I will be fixing those spotted beauties. And is it just me or is the white stuff really white? Too white? Hmmm...Whatcha think?

Oh and don't you love how I didn't close the drawer all the way for the picture, another thing I noticed after uploading the pictures. I almost redid the pics but was tired of messing with it.

Don't you love my little toile stars? Wish I could say I made them but my mom did a few years back and I had to have them. I don't like the keyholes on this black, but I had no idea what else to do with them so black they are....

A picture without the flash....

So that's it! This was fun, it's so nice when you take a piece you paid so little for and make it so pretty and expensive looking, don't ya think? I used to see tables, dressers, and such in stores and want want want and now when I see something I'm always like oh I can do that and it's so cool and so much more inexpensive! Now I am on the hunt for another oldy to beautify! Now tomorrow I will show you my old breadbox makeover and a ring I am workin on! Also stay tuned for my cabinet redo! Do you have any furniture makeovers your working on? My list is forever long.

Redoing a bench for babys room, a toy box for babys room, a bulletin board turned headboard, a chair, a double glider, a table, and a bookshelf, that's just what I can think of! Oh and wait til you see the big topiary I am working on! My goal is to get little bugaboos room done within the next 2 weeks! Phewww...You have no idea, lol!

Have a Great Night!

Your dresser looks awesome. Maybe you could tea stain the white pieces if they seem too bright to you. I think it all looks great!

It looks great!

The toile stars are really pretty, and I don't think the white is too "white."

And don't worry that you didn't close the drawer all the way - I wouldn't have noticed.

Your dresser looks so great! Isn't it interesting how you see things better after you post the picture? Happens to me all the time. BTW, your list of projects makes me tired. I have a list too, but I think I won't write it out!

I notice a lot of those things after I upload photos, too. Why aren't they obvious when we take the pictures? :)

Your makeover looks great!

lovely! It's amazing how the black makes the original hardware POP! I have a family heirloom hutch that I painted white for a more cottage feel a few years back - I've been toying with turning it black, now that it has a new home in a different room ...I think you may have just inspired me. ;)

I've been dying to try my hand at redoing some furniture, but I haven't found the right piece yet. Thanks for the inspiration. Sounds like you have a lot of awesome projects coming up, good luck:)

this is one transformation I want to try!!! that paint looks amazing...how do you keep it from chipping or flaking off? I would love to do this to some dressers I have but the last time I did, the paint would chip off...can you tell I don't do this often?? LOL!!!

Black makes everything better! I even love how you placed your accessories!

I heart spray paint...especially in black! Love what you've done with your dresser. And no, I don't think your accessories look too white. I enjoy the contrast.

That turned out wonderful! I can't believe it was only ten bucks! I love the black! It definitely IS more fun to find old treasures and restore them to new beauty.
Great job!

Ok so after only reading a few posts on your blog, I'm in love! You create the neatest things! Thanks for sharing all these great ideas! I saw the quilt hoops at a salvation army but wondered what to do with them... I may have to go back now! So cute!
