Goodwill Finds and More on my Things To Do list...

Edited for Thrifty Treasures over at Rhodas Southern Hospitality!! Click the image below after your done here and go check out everyones thrifty finds for the week!

Today we all took a trip to Goodwill for something to do. The goodwill we went to I haven't been in years. It had a great selection of fixer upper pieces. I had so much fun and since my dad and stepmom were with me we had a truck for hauling, woohoo!

I bought this dresser for $30 and I love it! I cannot wait to redo it! This is going to look awesome in black! I love the little drawers on it and the hardware even. It's banged up and will need lots of sanding but it is sturdy and clean.

I wanted this desk, it was only $15 but I wasn't sure that it would fit in my dads truck. Well after they finished loading up the dresser the lady was like are you sure you don't want that desk? My dad didn't actually go into Goodwill he stayed in the car with my oldest and they both napped :) But as you can see my dad bought me the desk and I am so glad I love it! It's nice and big and very heavy and sturdy and will be perfect in my office/craft room! I can't wait to paint it! I was going to do white but I think it will end up black too, lol.

I found this toile valance that is super long and has pretty ball fringe on it, it was $3.49.

I got this cloche/cheeseboard for 2.99. I don't like the board but like the cloche.

Now I have no idea what I will do with this other than spray paint it white, but I love it! It's HUGE! It had a TjMax tag on it still. What would you do with it? Please don't say burn it.

Seriously, you can't tell in the pictures but it's massive! This would make such a neat light but I don't have that much patience, lol.

I found some vinyl textured wallpaper with little Fleur Di Lis all over it. This will be cute for something!

I found these red gingham placemats for 1.49 for both. I thought maybe my grams could use them. She loves red.

These cute little bug flashcards that I am going to use for something in my sons room. These were .49 cents.

I don't know about you, but my project list is seriously miles long. I have some serious goals to get most of it done in the next week or too before all the fall fun begins. So what's your favorite? The desk? Dresser? Nothing? I have been really horrible the past few weeks at responding to your lovely comments. I read each one of them and love them. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on my posts, and I promise, I will get better at keeping up with them, it's just been a crazy few weeks!

Go Here and Here, and here to check out my other finds this week from TJMaxx, Jcpenney, and my free groceries from Kmart!!! Lots of goodies this week!

Hey Nicole,

First of all, don't get into blog-guilt! You do what you can, but blogs are supposed to be fun, and if you're feeling guilty you can't answer every single comment, that's going to kill the fun. I usually only make a considrable effort to return to a new commentor's blog and thank them for stopping by. After that, if I have something to say to a comment I will, but otherwise, you know, I read their comment and that's fine. :)

Now, as for your stuff, you got some great stuff! I agree, that cloche is very cute, even if you don't use the board (although consider painting it a bright color and who knows, it could be cute then). Love the larger furniture finds, too.

Let me ask you a question. When you go to pain that dresser black, will you use oil paint? Or will your prime it first? Or will you just sand and stick latex right on top? Just curious as I've started to paint ore these days.

and I love those place mats... you know me and my red. :)

OK, gotta go to work. :( Have a great day!

I LOVE your big pink "basket" thingie! I have something similar (but way smaller) that I keep on my desk with odds & ends in it. Mostly i use it to store my glass rocks (you know the ones we all use to make magnets with) and other little things that don't have a home yet. :) And I LOVE your cloche! What a great deal on that one! I need to go thrifting, I've been a few times, but I never find anything. It's like I leave my creativity in the car before I go in! :) Have fun working on your new projects

I love the bug flash cards. I never get to reply to comments:-( Ever. I barely have time to write a blog. But I just tell myself, that I shouldn't feel guilty, because if I do, I should stop blogging! I love reading your blog by the way!

You have a lot of work ahead of you but you found some great stuff!!
I love that pink bowl, and oh yeah, it needs painted! LOL!! That textured wall paper is to die for. I need some of that over here. Now to find it at Goodwill is just another matter all together!

I like the bowl pink - but then I have some pink in my house.
Painted white or black would be great, I think if you leave it pink though, come Easter time, it would look wonderful with about 100 or so colored eggs in it.

you find the best stuff!

I love the desk! I love those heavier older desks. I want one to paint tiffany blue for my daughters room. Anyway I love the pink bowl! Its so fun and different but I don't know what I would do with it. If it gets painted white it could go anywhere!

You sure found some awesome things! I had to chuckle when I saw the dresser and read your plans for it...its "twin" is sitting in my son's room right now but I've got BIG plans for that thing! Just like you, I'm planning to paint it black; then it's going in *our* room :)

Have a great day!

What a haul! I wish my Goodwill had treasures like those (of course I don't have a need for any big pieces right now). Have fun transforming everything, can't wait to see how they turn out. I think the dresser has the most potential.

Hey Nicole, You WILL be a busy girl with these latest refinishing projects! I, too, have a list as long as my arm. If they get done, so be it. If not, well, there's always tomorrow... You made me laugh out loud when you asked about your woven bowl- Don't say burn it?! too funny- just paint it, girl! Paint is your friend...

Nicole those are some awesome finds. I am just crazy about anything tiole and/or fleur de lis so those are my favorites. Love the idea of using that desk for crafting.
