I have been working on a few little things this week. I love taking something old and using it for something new!
Like taking an old candle holder and making something new with it...I took a tray from the dollar tree that was 1.00 and repainted my old candle holder and glued the tray on top. I did use the candle holder upside down for this as I like it better that way...I seen this idea in one of my favorite blogs but I cannot remember where. I hate that! So if it's yours please do let me know and I will link to ya. Now where to put it and what should I put on it....
I have a new system so I always know where an idea came from, I have a notebook in my desk drawer and everytime I see something I want to try I write it down and where it came from so I can always look back and see where the idea came from!
Next up, I took another one of those dollar store trays and painted some chalkboard paint on it, and glued some ribbon to the back to hang it, I got this idea from the Shabby Nest, though I must says hers is so much better. This I am going to get a plate stand for it and use it at my open house for my display. I don't have the pretty writing and my lines certainly are straight like hers, but I still love the idea! You must check out her blog as she is just wonderful and has so many great ideas!
I also took an picture frame I had and painted some chalkboard on a piece of cardboard and stuck it in the frame and viola another cute little chalkboard! Now I just need to figure out what to write on them and where to stick em! This idea I found while reading 320 Sycamores blog, she is fabulous and has such wonderful ideas!

I love the idea of putting a tray on top of a candle holder. It looks fantastic! Now I know what I need to buy on my next trip to the $ store!
